Otaku御宅 is a Japanese term used to refer to people with obsessive hobbies, most commonly manga or anime.

In modern Japanese slang, the term otaku refers to an overtly obsessive fan of any one particular theme, topic, or hobby. Common uses are anime otaku (one who sometimes enjoys many days of excessive anime watching with no rest) and manga otaku (a fan of Japanese graphic novels), pasokon otaku (personal computer geeks), gēmu otaku (playing video games), and wota (before referred as "idol otaku") that are extreme fans of idols, heavily promoted singing girls. There are also tetsudō otaku or denshamania (metrophiles) or gunji otaku (military geeks).
The otaku, the passionate obsessive, the information age's embodiment
of the connoisseur, more concerned with the accumulation of data than
of objects, seems a natural crossover figure in today's interface of
British and Japanese cultures. I see it in the eyes of the Portobello
dealers, and in the eyes of the Japanese collectors: a perfectly calm
train-spotter frenzy, murderous and sublime. Understanding otaku -hood,
I think, is one of the keys to understanding the culture of the web.
There is something profoundly post-national about it, extra-geographic.
We are all curators, in the post-modern world, whether we want to be or not.

တခ်ဳိ႔ဆုိရင္ အန္နီမီ အစြဲလြန္ၿပီး အန္နီမီထဲကအတုိင္း ၀တ္စားသြားလာက်တယ္ေလ။ ေယာက်ာ္းေလးေတာ့မေၿပာတတ္ဖူး မိန္းကေလးေတြအတြက္ေတာ့ အေတာ့္ကုိ ပုိက္ဆံကုန္မယ့္ဖက္ရွင္ပဲ။ တခ်ဴိ႔မိန္းကေလးေတြက်ေတာ့ အိမ္ေဖာ္၀တ္စုံကုိ ေၿခဆုံးေခါင္းဆုံး စင္ၿမန္းႀကတယ္။ ၿမင္ခါစတုန္းကဆုိရင္ အေတာ့္ကုိ အံ့ႀသမိတယ္။ ဘာလုိ႔ ဒီဖက္ရွင္ေခတ္စားတာလဲေပါ့။ ေနာက္က်မွ အထီးက်န္တဲ့အုိးတခုေတြေႀကာင့္ဆုိတာသိေတာ့တယ္။ အခုေနာက္ပုိင္း အဲ့လုိအထီးက်န္တဲ့ အုိးတခုေတြ ဆာလာရီမန္းေတြအတြက္ မြန္းႀကပ္မႈကုိေဖ်ာ္ေၿဖေပးတဲ့ Maid Cafeေတြ ဂ်ပန္မွာ ေခတ္စားလာတယ္။ စားပြဲထုိးမေလးေတြက အိမ္ေဖာ္လုိ ၀တ္စားဆင္ယင္ၿပီး လာတဲ့ စားသုံးသူေတြကုိ အိမ္ႀကီးရွင္ေယာက်ာ္း)လုိ႔နာမ္စားသုံးၿပီး ကုိယ့္ေယာက်္ားလုိၿပဳစုဆက္ဆံရတယ္။ ၿပန္လာၿပီလား ေမာလာၿပီလား ဘာေသာက္မလဲ ဘာညာေပါ့။ ဟုိဟာ ဒီဟာေတာ့မပါဘူး။ ပါတဲ့ဆုိင္ေတြရွိရင္လဲရွိမွာေပါ့။ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ကေတာ့ ဗြီဒီယုိမွာဘဲႀကည့္ဖူူးတယ္။ ကုိယ္တုိင္ေတာ့ မသြားဖူးဘူး။ ေစ်းႀကီးမယ္ထင္တယ္။
